How to Make Bread Pakoda

Some times it is very difficult to fill kids tiffin box. As always all kids yummy and new recipes every day. They don't like repetition. And mums wants tiffin healthy. I think it's a everyday's head ache. So I think I Have a smart and healthy solution for that. I know Bead Pakoda is a very old recipe, but I tried to make it more healthy and delicious by adding home made creamy paneer and some vegetables. Normally bread pakodas are made from potato and green peas stuffing. So enjoy cooking of Delicious yet easy Bread Pakoda.

Preparation time - 10 to 15 minutes
Cooking time - 10 minutes
Makes - 4 pakodas

Ingredients to make Bread Pakoda:

For stuffing:

1 cup crumbled fresh paneer
1 small onion very finely chopped
2 table spoon grated carots
2 table spoon finely chopped capsicum
2 table spoon boiled and roughly mashed green peas
Salt to taste
1 green chilly finely chopped
1/2 tea spoon red chilli powder
A pinch turmeric powder
2 table spoon finely chopped coriander powder

For batter:

1 cup gram flour - besan
Salt to taste
A pinch turmeric powder
1/2 tea spoon red chilli powder
A pinch asafoetida - hing

Oil for frying
4 slices breads

To serve with:

Tomato ketch up

Method to make Bread Pakoda:

  • Mix all ingredients of batter in a bowl and mix well, add sufficient water to make semi thick batter. Keep a side covered.
  • Mix all the ingredients of stuffing in another bowl and add spices to it. Mix well. 
  • On a board place a bread slice and spread stuffing over it properly. Place another slice over it and cut it diagonally, repeat the same for remaining.
  • Now dip a portion in batter properly and deep fry it in hot oil at medium flame till light brown in colour.
  • When ready remove and drain over absorbent tissue. Repeat the same for remaining.
  • Serve hot and healthy Bead Pakoda with tomato ketch up.
