How to Make Naan

In earlier recipe we learn to make home made Naan. But it's time to learn making naan restaurant  style. Normally we makes it by adding soda and curd. But in this recipe baking soda and hot milk is used, means it's different. And I am sure you will feel the difference between the result of both recipes. Main benefit of this home made recipe is it's oil free. Applying butter on ready naan is up to you. So enjoy the recipe for home made naan with any vegetable or curry.




Preparation time - 10 minutes
Resting time - 4 to 5 hours
Cooking time - 10 minutes

Ingredients to male Naan:

1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
250 grams refined flour
1/2 tea spoon baking powder
Salt to taste
Oil for kneading
1 table spoon kalonji seeds (onion seeds)
Butter to apply 

Method to make Naan:


  • Heat milk till boiling temperature. Add baking powder to it and keep a side for 2 minutes. 
  • Mean while add salt to refined flour and strain for 2 times.
  • Add above milk to it and make semi soft dough from it. Add warm water if needed.
  • Knead the dough properly with oil and rest for minimum 4 to 5 hours at warm place.
  • After that heat griddle - tavi and make equal size balls from dough. Roll a oblong naan from it and apply some kalonji and coriander to it. Press slowly and roast it on griddle. 
  • When ready remove and apply some butter over it. 
  • Repeat the same for remaining.
  • Hot and soft naan is ready to serve.
  • It can be baked in O.T.G or in tandoor also. Even electric tandoor at home can also work as original tandoor.
