How to Make Mix Pakoda

Recipe by Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Mix Pakoda. In earlier recipe we learn to make Noodles Pakoda Methi - fenugreek pakoda, Stuffed Capsicum Pakoda, Onion Rings and Chinese Pakoda, but now it's time for mix pakodas made from cauliflower, onion, potato and paneer. It is very easy and of course delicious. It can be served as quick snack with tomato ketch up. So enjoy this different but yummy Mix Pakodas today.

Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time - 15 minutes

Ingredients to make  mix Pakoda:

For inner layer:

1/2 cup paneer cubes
1/4 cup steamed cauliflower
1/4 cup steamed potato
1/2 cup onion cubes
1 tea spoon oil
Salt to taste
1/2 tea spoon black pepper powder
1/2 tea spoon red chilli powder

For outer layer:

1 1/2 cup gram flour
2 table spoon finely chopped spinach
2 table spoon finely chopped coriander leaves
2 table spoon finely chopped fenugreek leaves
2 table spoon finely chopped greens of spring onion
Salt to taste
1 table spoon finely chopped green chillies
1/2 tea spoon ginger paste
1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder
1/2 tea spoon red chilli powder
1/4 tea spoon asafoetida
1/4 tea spoon ajwain - thymol seeds (opt.)
1 table spoon hot oil
A pinch fruit salt (opt.)

Oil for frying

To serve with:

Tomato ketch up

Method to make Mix Pakoda:

For inner layer:

  • In a big mixing bowl add oil, salt, pepper powder and red chilli powder, mix well.
  • Add paneer, onion, cauliflower and potatoes to it. Mix well and keep a side for 10 minutes.

For outer layer:

  • In a mixing bowl add all ingredients of outer layer excluding hot oil and fruit salt. 
  • Mix well, now add hot oil and fruit salt to it and mix well.

How to assemble: 

  • Heat oil in a pan and dip marinated vegetables to outer layer. Fry them at medium flame till light brown.
  • When ready remove and drain over absorbent tissue. Repeat the same for remaining.
  • Hot and delicious Mix Pakoda is ready to serve. Serve it with tomato ketch up.
