Preparation time - 5 minutes
Cooking time - 7 to 8 minutes
Ingredients to make Makhana Chikki:
1 cup makhana
1/2 cup chopped jaggery
2 tablespoon ghee
I used cow ghee
2 tablespoon roasted sesame seeds
1/4 teaspoon rock salt
Ghee for greasing hand
Method to make Makhana Chikki:
- First of all slightly dry roast sesame seeds. Keep a side.
- In a nonstick pan add ghee and roast makhana. Add salt to it. Roast untill it becomes crunchy. Keep a side.
- In a nonstick pan add chopped jaggery and melt it at slow flame. Cook till jaggery chashni is ready. ( To check the chashni take 2 to 3 tablespoon water in a small bowl and put a drop of hot jaggery chashni in it. If turns in firm ball our chashni is ready.)
- When ready remove from flame and add makhana and sesame seeds to it. Mix well. Quickly transfer it to silicon sheet.
- Try to flatten it. Grease your hand with ghee and try to roll single makhana. It is required to make it quickly.
- It will give metalic sound when cool. Transfer to airtight container.
