How to Make Besanwali Bhindi

Recipe by Naiya Sheth: In earlier recipe we made bharva bhindi in microwave and jain style bharva bhindi. And now it's time to make Besanwali bhindi - I mean to say same bharva bhindi, with tempting taste of onion. And specially it is made on flame for them who don't have microwave. And I tell you it is very delicious and easy to make. So, lets try this home made recipe of Bharva Bhindi.

Preparation time -5 to 7 minutes
Cooking time - 8 to 10 minutes
Serves - 2 person

Ingredients to make Besanwali Bhindi:

20 medium lad fingers (bhidi)
1 1/2 to 2 table spoon oil
1 tea spoon cumin 
1 medium onion sliced
Salt to taste
1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder
1/4 tea spoon cumin and dry coriander powder
A pinch dry mango powder
A pinch garam masala powder
1 1/2 to 2 table spoon dry roasted gram flour
1 table spoon roughly crushed roasted peanuts
1 table spoon roughly crushed roasted sesame
1 tea spoon red chilly powder

Method to make Besanwali Bhindi:

  • Wash and dry bhindi with muslin cloth.
  • Slice them and also slice onion.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to it.
  • When they crackles add onion and cook till soft at medium flame.
  • Now add bhindi and cook at medium fla,e. Mean while add salt to taste as per bhindi.
  • Take dry roasted gram flour in a bowl and add remaining spices to it including sesame and peanuts.
  • When bhindies are cooked add above mixture to it.
  • Again cook, stir occasionally. 
  • When ready remove from flame.
  • Serve hot and delicious Besanwali Bhindi with Fulka Roti.
