Recipe by Naiya Sheth: Normally French toast is rarely available in the vegetarian version. In general French Toast means a recipe in which bread is soaked in beaten eggs and then dip fried. But here in this homemade recipe of Eggless French Toast, we are going to use custard powder instead of eggs. To make it healthier it is cooked on tava-griddle. And I added my own touch of lots of fruits and nuts with custard as toppings. So enjoy this mouthwatering dessert today.

Ingredients to make Eggless French Toast:
2 tablespoon caster sugar
2 tablespoon custard powder (vanilla)
1/2 cup milk
2 slices bread
Butter as needed
For toppings:
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla custard powder
1/2 cup chopped fresh fruits
(may be of your choice)
1/4 cup chopped roasted nuts
(almond, cashews, walnuts)
Method to make Eggless French Toast:
For topping:
- In a non-stick pan mix milk, sugar and custard powder.
- Mix well to remove lumps.
- Heat till boiling temperature. When ready strain and cool at room temperature.
- Now place in refrigerator to chill.
- At the time of serving add fruits and nuts to it and mix.
For toast:
- Mix all ingredients of french toast excluding bread slices in a wide plate.
- Soak a bread slice in it and cook on non-stick tava-griddle with butter until lightly brown on both sides.
- Repeat the same for remaining.
How to assemble:
- Cut each slice into 2 portions and place on serving plate.
- Spread topping on it and serve immediately.
Enjoy hot Eggless French Toast with cool topping.
Tips:
- Can be topped with honey and cinnamon powder also.
