How to make Shahi Doodh Pauva

Recipe by Naiya Sheth: Early we made Doodh Pauva. That was simple but now it's time to make delicious Shahi Doodh Pauva. So let's make this mouthwatering dessert with the richness of saffron.



Preparation time - 5 minutes
Cooking time 5 minutes
Soaking time 3 to 4 hours 
Cooking time - nil

Ingredients to make Shahi Doodh Pauva:

500 ml. milk (full fat)
2 to 3 tablespoon sugar
1 cup poha/pauva
1/8 teaspoon saffron
1 tablespoon almond slices
1 tablespoon pistachio slices
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 scoop Kesar Pista ice cream (opt.)

For garnishing:

Almond slices
Pistachio slices
Cardamom seeds
Cardamom powder
Saffron

Method to make Shahi Doodh Pauva:

  • In a pan mix milk, sugar and saffron. Boil for minimum 5 minutes.
  • Let it cool at room temperature.
  • Add washed pauva to it. Mix well.
  • Keep in refrigerator to cool.
  • When chilled add almonds, pistachio and cardamom. At this stage add ice cream if you wish. Mix well. 
  • Garnish with almonds, pistachio, saffron and cardamom.
  • Serve Shahi Doodh Pauva Chilled.
