Recipe by Naiya Sheth: Weekend is here. Again it's time to make single meal dinner. So very delicious and of course healthy open footlong sandwich is here. I tried to make one hot and one cool footlong sandwich, but both healthy. One was with baked beans and another with mayo dip. For eating convenience I divide it into three parts. So, let's enjoy cooking and eating this homemade recipe of the sandwich.

Ingredients to make Footlong sandwich:
Footlong loaf 1 no.
Butter as needed
For bean sandwich:
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 teaspoon ajwain
1/2 teaspoon crushed garlic
1small onion pure
1 tomato pure
1/2 cup baked beans
1/4 cup boiled kidney beans
1/2 cup boiled soya bean
1/2 cup paneer cubes
1/4 capsicum finely chopped
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon chilli flacks
1/2 teaspoon mix herbs
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 tablespoon tomato ketchup
Grated cheese as needed
For mayo sandwich:
For dip:
1/2 cup hung curd
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup cheese spread
Salt to taste
2 tablespoon tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon chilli tomato sauce
1 cucumber finely chopped
1/2 tomato finely chopped
1/2 cup lettuce/cabbage finely chopped
1 onion finely chopped
2 to 3 chopped olives
Grated cheese as needed
Method to make Open Footlong Sandwich:
For bean sandwich:
- In a pan heat oil and add ajwain to it. Add onion-garlic paste to it. Cook for 2 minutes and then add tomato puree to it. Again cook.
- Now add baked beans with sauce, kidney beans and soya beans to it. Cook for 1 minutes and then add tomato ketchup, chilli tomato sauce and other spices to it.
- At last, add capsicum and paneer to it. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Let it cool at room temperature. Our topping for beans sandwich is ready.
For mayo sandwich:
- Mix all ingredients of the dip in a mixing bowl properly, keep in a refrigerator.
- That's it our topping for mayo sandwich is ready.
How to assemble Open Footlong Sandwich:
- Divide footlong loaf into two parts horizontally.
- Again divide into 3 parts means we will get 6 portions.
- Spread butter on all six portions properly.
For beans sandwich:
- Cover a portion of the loaf with bean mixture. Again cover with grated cheese.
- Sprinkle some mix herbs, oregano and chilli flacks on it.
- Microwave for one minute with cover. Our super delicious open foot long beans sandwich is ready. Serve hot.
For mayo sandwich:
- Spread a thick layer of dip on a portion of the loaf.
- Again spread some cucumber, tomato, onion, lettuce/cabbage and some olives on it.
- Now time to spread some grated cheese as per choice. Put some drops of dip on it again.
- Super delicious cool creamy mayo sandwich is ready.

- I used low-fat butter and whole wheat loaf to make healthier.
