How to Make Moong dal Paratha

 
In earlier recipes we saw the recipes of methi paatha, protein paratha and palakh paneer parahta. But now it's time for delicious moong dal paratha. A very very delicious protein rich paratha. It can be served as break fast or as single meal dinner also. This parathas can be served with raita or pickle. So enjoy this healthy recipe.

Preparation time - 20 minutes
Soaking time - 5 to 6 hours
Cooking time - 20 to 25 minutes
Serves - 3 person

Moong Dal Paratha

Ingredients to make Moong Dal Paratha:

For dough:

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 table spoon oil
Salt to taste

For stuffing:

1/2 cup moong dal - soaked
1 onion finely chopped
2 to 3 green chilli finely chopped
Salt to taste
1/2 tea spoon red chilli powder
A pinch asafoetida
1 tea spoon cumin seeds
A pinch turmeric powder
1 table spoon coriander - finely chopped
1 tea spoon oil

Oil for cooking

To serve with:

Raita
Pickle

Method to make Moong Dal Paratha:

  • Mix all ingredients of dough and knead soft dough with sufficient water.
  • Keep a side covered.
  • Pressure cook soaked moong dal with less water.
  • Heat oil and add cumin seeds to it. When they crackles add green chillies, asafoetida and turmeric powder to it. Add spices and boiled moong dal to it. Mix well and at last add coriander to it.
  • Let it cool at room temperature.
  • Knead dough with little oil on hand and make equal balls from it. Make same quantity of balls from stuffing. 
  • Take a ball of dough and roll it up to 3" dia., place a stuffing ball over it and seal it properly. 
  • Again roll it thick. Take some dry rice flour for dusting.
  • Heat a non stick tavi - griddle and cook paratha till crisp with oil.
  • Repeat the same for remaining.
  • Serve hot Moong Dal Paratha with raita and pickle.
