Recipe By Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Magas. This is a traditional Indian sweet. Traditionally it is made on flame. But it takes lots of time and efforts. So we are making it in microwave. It is made from gram flour. To make it more easy and quick I use combination of fine and coarse gram flour.

Cooking time - 5 to 7 minutes

Ingredients to make Magas:
75 grams fine gram flour
25 grams coarse gram flour
75 grams ghee
75 grams powder sugar
For garnishing:
Sliced almonds
Sliced pistachio
cardamom powder
Cardamom seeds
Method to make Magas:
- In a microwave proof bowl mix flours and ghee properly.
- Cook at MICRO HI for 2 minutes.
- Stir and again cook for 2 minutes or as required. It should have light brown colour and very pleasant fragrance.
- When ready remove from microwave and transfer in flat vessel. Let it cool at room temperature.
- When cool add sugar and cardamom powder.Mix well with hand.
- Transfer in a greased plate and sprinkle sliced almonds, pistachio and cardamom seeds. Press gently. Give rest for minimum 30 minutes.
- Cut Magas in desired shape and size with sharp knife.
- Store Magas in air tight container. It can be stored for minimum 20 days.
- Even small balls also can be made from this mixture. In that case roll them in to finely chopped almonds, pistachio and cardamom powder.
