Recipe by Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Chocolate Phirni. Earlier we learn about the making of Phirni. As we all know phirni is a traditional rice custard. It is cooked with milk. It is very rich and yummy recipe. But yesterday I thought to make a twist in same traditional phirni. As a fact we are a chocolate lover family I just tried to make Chocolate Phirni. And you won't believe it was very nice in taste. A superb chocolaty desert was there for us. So I would like to share this home made recipe with you. So enjoy this yummy calcium rich recipe today.

Ingredients to make Chocolate Phirni:
1 litre milk
1/4 cup basmati rice
2 table spoon drinking chocolate powder
1 table spoon cocoa powder
200 grams sugar
For garnishing:
Chocolate chips
Chocolate vermicelli
Sliced almonds
Sliced pistachio
Method to make Chocolate Phirni:
- Wash and soak basmati rice for minimum 30 minutes and crush to fine paste as normal phirni.
- In 1/2 cup milk dissolve rice paste, cocoa powder and drinking chocolate powder. Keep a side.
- In another non stick pan add remaining milk and sugar. Add above chocolate mixture to it and mix properly. Cook at slow flame till thicken.
- Stir occasionally. When ready remove from flame and let it cool at room temperature.
- Refrigerate till chilled, when chilled serve in to a clay pot or serving bowl.
- Garnish Chocolate phirni with sliced almonds,pistachio, chocolate chips and chocolate vermicelli. Even you can add small pieces of chocolate also.
