Ingredients to make Steamed Dahi Vada:
For vada:
1 cup yellow moong dal - skinless split green gram
3 to 4 green chillies finely chopped
1 teaspoon crushed ginger
Salt to taste
1/2 to 1 teaspoon fruit salt

2 cups curd

Method to make Steamed Dahi Vada:
For vada:
- Wash and soak skinless split moong dal for 4 to 5 hours in lukewarm water.
- After that crush it to smooth paste with very less water. Keep aside for 4 to 5 hours.
- Add salt, green chillies and ginger to it and mix well adjust thickness by adding sufficient water.
- Add fruit salt to it and beat properly.
- Place small vadas in a hot steamer and let it cook till boiled covered.
- When ready remove and let it cool at room temp.
For curd mixture:
- Beat curd and add salt and sugar to it. Mix well.
- Keep in refrigerator to chill.
How to proceed:
- In a serving bowl place boiled vadas and spread chilled curd mixture over it.
- Spread sweet and green chutney as per the taste.
- Sprinkle red chilli powder and chaat masalo over it.
- Garnish Steamed Dahi Vada with finely chopped coriander leaves (opt.).
Tips to make Boiled Dahi Vada more healthy:
- In stead of skinless split moong dal, green - split moong dal can be used.
- For those who want to avoid sugar, artificial sweetener can be used.
