THE Gajar Ka Halwa HACK: Get Authentic Richness in Half the Time!

Preparation time - 12 to 15 minutes 

Cooking time - 15 to 20 minutes 

Ingredients to make Gajar ka Halwa:

1 1/2 kg red carrots/gajar

1/4 cup ghee 

I used pure cow ghee 

1 cup milk

100 gram condensed milk 

15 grams milk powder 

1 to 2 tablespoon sugar (opt)

1 tablespoon kishmish/raisins 

2 tablespoon chopped cashews

2 tablespoon chopped almonds 

2 tablespoon chopped pistachio 

2 teaspoon cardamom powder 

For garnishing:

Chopped cashew, almonds, pistachio 

Raisins 

Cardamom powder 


Method to make Gajar ka Halwa:

  • First of all wash and peel carrot. Grate it proi. Make sure to remove yellow/white part from carrot. 
  • In a nonstick/thick bottom pan add ghee and roast grated carrot in it. Keep one spoon of ghee separately for frying nuts. 
  • When ready add hot milk in it, let it cook properly with carrot. 
  • When it reduces add milk powder and condensed milk to it. Mix and again cook. 
  • Add sugar at this stage of needed. (It depends upon the sweetness of carrot).
  • Cook until you see ghee at the sides of pan. 
  • In a small tadka pan add remaining ghee and fry nuts and raisins in it. Add to the pan and mix properly. At last add cardamom powder to it. 
  • Garnish piping hot Gajar ka Halwa with nuts and cardamom powder.
