As we all know Maha Shivratri
is the night of worship Lord Shiva. It occurs on the 14th night of
the new moon during the dark half of phalgun month. We Hindus offers
special prayer to the lord of destruction. It is said that lord shiv
performed Tandava nritya on that day. It is a festival of one day and
one night only. On this occasion we eats farali recipes only. And my family - specially my son wants something different on every fast. So I tried to make farali Aloo Tikki. In Earlier recipe we made normal aloo Tikki. With the same Method I tried to make it farali, with little twist in filling and binding material. So enjoy cooking of Farali Aloo Tikki.

Ingredients to Make Farali Aloo Tikki:
For outer layer:
2 to 3 boiled and mashed potatoes big
Salt to taste fasting salt
2 to 3 green chillies finely chopped
1 to 2 table spoon ara lot - arrowroot
For stuffing:
1/2 cup paneer - grated
1/4 cup grated cheese
2 tea spoon green chillies finely chopped
Ara lot - arrowroot for dusting
Oil for frying
To serve with:
Curd
For Garnishing:
Red chilli powder
Method to make Farali Aloo Chaat:
Outer layer:
- Mash potatoes and add other ingredients to it.
- Mix well.
- Keep a side covered.
Stuffing:
- Mix all ingredients of stuffing and make 2 equal parts of it. Make balls from it.
How to assemble:
- Make 2 equal parts of outer layer.
- Take a part on your palm and stuff paneer mixture in it carefully.
- Make a ball from it and then give a shape of tikki to it. Dust in dry
Ara lot - arrowroot. - Heat oil and dip fry at high flame till light bown. When ready drain on absorbent kitchen tissue. Repeat the same for remaining.
- At the same time whisk curd and add sugar and salt to it.
- In a serving plate spread above curd and then place hot tikki over it.
- Spread sweet chutney, green chutney and and some curd over it as per the taste.
- Sprinkle some red chilli powder eind chaat masalo over it.
- Hot and tempting Farali Aloo Tikki is ready to serve.
Tips:
- Farali chevdo, pomegranate seeds and chopped coriander leaves can be sprinkle over it for crunchy effect.
- In stead of dip frying shallow frying can be done.
- Stuffing can be done with cashews, raisins, chopped peanuts, sesame seeds and grated coconut also.
