How to Make Stuffed Bread Pakoda

In earlier recipes we saw the recipes of bread pakoda, grilled bread pakoda and Chinese bread pakoda. But now it's time for some thing different. A home made recipe of stuffed bread pakoda is here. It is a kind of aloo mutter sandwich, but again a surprise is here. A paneer - cottage cheese slice is waiting for you in between two slices of bread. So an honest try to make simple bread pakoda healthy and delicious. I hope you will enjoy this recipe. It is good for kids and of course as single menu menu in dinner also. A paneer slice will give a richness to whole recipe. So enjoy the recipe of stuffed bread pakoda.

Preparation time - 15 minutes
Cooking time - 10 to 15 minutes
Makes - 2 pakodas

Ingredients to make Stuffed Bread Pakoda:

4 slices of bread

For stuffing:

3 potatoes boiled and mashed
Salt to taste
2 to 3 green chillies finely chopped
1 tea spoon fennel seeds
1 tea spoon oil
1/2 tea spoon mustard seeds
1 table spoon chopped coriander
8 to 10 curry leaves
1 table spoon sugar
A pinch citric acid - limboo na ful

2 medium thick slices of paneer

For batter:

1 cup gram flour
Salt to taste
A pinch turmeric powder
1 table spoon rice flour
A pinch soda bi carb (opt.)

Oil for frying

To serve with:

Tomato ketch up

Method to make Stuffed Bread Pakoda:

For stuffing:

  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to it. When they crackles add finely chopped curry leaves and spread over stuffing ingredients.
  • Combine all ingredients of stuffing and mix well.

For batter:

  • Mix all ingredients of batter in another bowl and add sufficient water to make medium thick batter.

To assemble:

  • Take a slice of bread and spread potato mixture over it. Repeat the same for another one. Now place a paneer slice over first one and place another bead upside down to make sandwich. 
  • Dip whole sandwich in hot batter and fry in hot oil at medium flame. 
  • When ready drain over absorbent tissue.
  • Repeat the same for remaining.
  • When ready cut stuffed bread pakoda diagonally and serve with tomato ketch up and green chutney.

Tips:

  • For more colourful stuffing green chutney and tomato ketch up can be spread on sides of paneer slice. i.e. one side tomato ketch up and another side green chutney.
  • Instead of cottage cheese slice cheese slice can be used.
