In earlier recipe we saw lots of varieties of beads. Among all bread items of Indian recipes in restaurants rumali roti is very popular. But some how we find it difficult to make it at home. I tried to make it at home. No doubt it is difficult first time but I think it will be easy to make it in your kitchen after some practice. So, enjoy the home made recipe of rumali roti today. 

Preparation time - 10 to 15 minutes
Cooking time - 15 to 20 minutes
Makes - 20 roties

Ingredients to make Rumali Roti:

2 cups refined flour
Salt to taste
1/8 tea spoon soda bi carb
1 table spoon oil
Milk for kneading
Butter to spread
Dry refined flour or rice flour for dusting (opt.)

Method to make Rumali Roti

Rumali Roti

  • Mix refined flour, salt, soda bi carb and oil in a big bowl and knead soft dough with the help of milk.
  • Keep a side covered for minimum 40 minutes.
  • Make equal size balls from it and roll very thin roti from it.
  • Stretch from all sides carefully. Cook on hot tavi - griddle up side down.
  • It will take hardly 30 seconds to cook, when cooked remove from flame and apply some butter over it. Roll and cut in 2 to 3 portions. 
  • Serve hot Rumali Roti covered with aluminium foil.
