Recipe by Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Mirchi Vada. It's a very delicious recipe for snacks as well as starter. Michi vada is an ideal starter for pure traditional menu. Even it can be a part of menu also as farsan. Basically it can be said that this is a pakoda recipe with the stuffing of boiled potato. But it is very easy and delicious and I am sure you will love to have it during monsoon and winter. So enjoy the recipe for Mirchi vada.

Ingredients to make Mirchi Vada:
For stuffing:
2 boiled and grated potatoes
2 to 3 green chillies finely chopped
1/2 tea spoon roasted cumin powder
1 tea spoon roasted fennel seeds
1 tea spoon chaat masalo
1/2 tea spoon chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tea spoon chopped mint leaves
1/2 lemon juice
1 tea spoon sugar (opt.)
Salt to taste

For batter:
1 1/2 cup besan - gram flour
1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tea spoon red chilli powder
A pinch soda bi crab
1 table spoon hot oil
150 gram vadhvani marcha - chilli
Oil for frying
To serve with:
Tomato ketch up
Method to make Mirchi Vada:
For stuffing:
- Mix all ingredients of stuffing in a bowl and mix well. Keep a side covered.
For batter:
- In a big mixing bowl add all ingredients excluding hot oil and mix well. Add sufficient water to make semi thick batter.
- At last add a spoon full of hot oil to it and mix well.
How to proceed:
- Slit chillies and remove seeds from it.
- Heat water to boiling temp. and place above chillies to it for 2 minutes.
- Drain and soak in tap water for 5 minutes. Remove from it and drain properly.
- Now stuff above stuffing to it and dip in ready batter.
- Fry it at medium flame in hot oil.
- When ready drain over absorbent kitchen tissue.
- Hot and delicious Mirchi Vada is ready to serve with tomato ketch up.
