How to Make Spinach Potato puri

Recipe by Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Spinach Potato Puri. In earlier recipe we learn about making of normal puri. But it was simple puri to serve with vegetable or curry. But now it's a home made recipe for delicious Spinach Potato Puri. It can be served as snacks or heavy break fast also. It is a very testy but healthy recipe. Even it can be made for kids lunch box also. It can be served with coriander raita or cucumber raita or mix veg.raita.

Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time - 10 to 15 minutes

Ingredients to make Spinach Potato Puri:

1 cup chopped spinach
1 onion
1 boiled potato
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
3 to 4 green chilli
1 tea spoon ginger paste
Salt to taste
2 table spoon oil
Whole wheat flour as needed
1/2 cup chopped coriander
Oil for frying

Method to Make Spinach Potato Puri:

  • Wash and chop spinach. Boil and grate potato. Chop onion.
  • In a pan heat 1 table spoon oil and add cumin seeds, when it crackles add onion and chopped green chilli. Cook for 2 minutes and then add chopped spinach. Again cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • When ready remove from flame and let it cool at room temperature.
  • When cool add chopped coriander and green chillies. Churn to smooth paste.
  • In a big mixing bowl take above mixture and add salt, crushed ginger, grated potato and mix well. 
  • Add another 1 table spoon oil and wheat flour as needed. Knead semi soft dough from it without adding water.
  • Keep a side covered for 2 minutes.
  • Make equal size balls from dough and roll puries from it.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and slowly add a puri to it. Let it puff. Cook on both sides.
  • When ready drain over absorbent tissue.
  • Repeat the same for remaining. 
  • Serve hot and delicious Spinach Potato Puri with masala curd or raita.
