Mawa Matar Recipe: How to make Mawa Matar (Khoya Matar)
Learn how to make Mava Mutter. This is a healthy and rich home made recipe. As the name indicates it contains lots of mutter - green peas and mava - khoya. Khoya is a very rich milk product so, very healthy and tasty. Mava Mutter is a colourful spicy vegetable.
Cooking time - 10 to 15 minutes
Serves - 4 persons
Ingredients to make Mawa Matar (Khoya Matar)
- 2 cups boiled green peas
- 1 1/2 cup grated khoya
- A pinch asafoetida
- 1/8 tea spoon clove powder
- 1 big tomato finely chopped
- 1 tea spoon finely chopped green chilli
- 1 tea spoon ginger paste
- 1 tea spoon garam masala powder
- 1 table spoon dry coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder
- 1 tea spoon red chilli powder
- 1 1/2 table spoon oil or butter
For garnishing:
Finely chopped coriander leaves

Method to make Mawa Matar (Khoya Matar)
- In a pan heat oil, add asafoetida, green chilli and clove powder. Add khoya and cook till light brown at slow flame. Stir properly.
- Now add ginger paste, garam masala, coriander powder, turmeric powder and red chilli powder to it. Mix well.
- At last add chopped tomatoes, boiled green peas and salt to taste. Mix well and again cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Hot and healthy Mava Mutter is ready to serve. Serve it with paratha, kulcha or naan.
