How to Make Stuffed paneer Dahi Vada

Recipe By Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Stuffed Paneer Dahi Vada. In an earlier recipe, we learn how to make Dahi Vada. But that was an authentic recipe in which we used urad dal, but here in this homemade recipe, of Stuffed Paneer Dahi vada as the name indicates we are using paneer - cottage cheese. And boiled potatoes in the stuffing. So it will be a surprising recipe. It contains dahi - curd and paneer - cottage cheese so, very rich in calcium also.

Ingredients to make Stuffed Paneer Dahi Vada:

For Paneer Balls:

200 grams paneer - cottage cheese
1 big potato boiled and mashed
Salt to taste
1 1/2 table spoon corn flour

For stuffing:

1 tablespoon chopped coriander
1 teaspoon chopped green chillies
1 tablespoon chopped cashews
1 tablespoon finely chopped roasted pea nuts
1 tablespoon grated fresh coconut
1 tablespoon milk powder
Oil for frying

For covering:

3 to 4 cups fresh whipped curd
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon sweet chutney
1 teaspoon green chutney
1 tablespoon sugar (opt.)

For garnishing:

Red chilli powder
Roasted cumin powder
Chaat masalo

Method to make Stuffed Paneer Dahi Vada:

For Paneer Balls:

  • In a flat plate mash paneer properly. Mix all ingredients of paneer balls.
  • Make equal size small balls from it and keep aside.

For stuffing:

  • Mix all ingredients of stuffing properly.

How to assemble paneer balls: 

  • Take a portion of paneer ball in a palm and make it flat, fill stuffing in it and seal properly.
  • Repeat the same for remaining. 
  • In a frying pan heat oil and fry paneer balls at medium flame till light brown.
  • When ready drain over an absorbent tissue. 
  • Let it cool at room temperature.

How to make curd mixture:

  • In  a bowl mix whisked curd and salt. Add sugar if needed.
  • Keep in refrigerator.

How to serve Stuffed Paneer Dahi Vada:

  • In a serving plate place Dahi vada and pour curd mixture over it. Cover vadas properly. 
  • Pour some sweet chutney and green chutney as per the taste.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves, chaat masalo and red chilli powder.
  • Healthy, yummy and beautiful Stuffed Paneer Dahi Vada is ready to serve.
