How to Make Pineapple Basundi

Recipe by Naiya Sheth: Learn how to make Pineapple Basundi. In Gujarati main dish-thali Basundi plays a very important roll. We serve it as sweet or as desert also. But as a sweet it is served with roti or puri along with sabji, salad and farsan.  

Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time - 20 to 25 minutes
Serves - 4 persons

Ingredients to make Pineapple Basundi:

4 cups full fat milk
2 cups condensed milk
1 cup pineapple crush
2 to 3 drops pineapple emergent.

For garnishing:

Finely chopped tinned pineapple


Method to make Pineapple Basundi:

  • Heat milk in a non stick pan for minimum 10 minutes. Add condensed milk and again cook for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Let it cool at room temperature.
  • Keep in refrigerator to chill. Add pineapple crush and pineapple emergent. 
  • Garnish with Chopped tinned pineapple.
  • Serve chilled Pineapple Basundi

For pineapple crush:


  • Cook 1 pineapple and 400 grams sugar for 5 minutes in microwave at MICRO HI.
  • Let it cool at room temperature.Crush and strain.
