How to Make Cottage Cheese Samosa

Recipe by Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Cottage Cheese Samosa. In earlier recipes we learn about the making of farali samosa, green peas samosa, cheese samosa, samosa chaat etc. No don't misunderstand it's not normal cottage cheese samosa with onion and spices. It's a home made recipe for sweet samosa, which has to dip in sugar syrup. In India it will be the festival season during this whole month so, this may be a great surprising sweet. It can be served with meal or as desert also.  So enjoy the recipe of Cottage Cheese Samosa today.

Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time - 20 minutes

Ingredients to make Cottage Cheese Samosa:

For stuffing:

200 grams paneer-cottage cheese
60 grams caster sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped dry fruits
(almonds, pistachio, cashew nuts etc.)
1/4 tea spoon cardamom powder
A pinch salt
1 table spoon raisins 

For outer layer:

1/4 cup refined flour
2 table spoon ghee or oil
Oil for frying

For sugar syrup:

100 grams sugar
1 cup water

For garnishing:

Sliced almonds and pistachio

Method to make Cottage Cheese Samosa:

For stuffing:

  • Cook paneer in a non stick pan for 2 minutes.
  • Mix all the ingredients of stuffing and keep a side.

For outer layer:

  • Knead soft dough from refined flour, ghee and sufficient water.
  • Keep a side covered.

For sugar syrup: 

  • Heat sugar and water to gather till boil.
  • Make 2 1/2 string consistency sugar syrup.

How to assamble: 

  • Make small balls from dough and make small puries from it. Cut them into 2 equal parts and fill the stuffing in it.
  • Seal all the ages properly with milk or water.
  • Fry them in hot oil at slow flame. When it turns to light brown in colour remove from oil and drain in to absorbent kitchen tissue.
  • Dip them in to sugar syrup for 4 to 5 minutes. 
  • Remove from syrup and garnish with sliced dry fruits and cardamom powder.
  • Sweet and yummy Cottage Cheese Samosa is ready to serve.
