Recipe by Naiya Sheth: A well-known Bengali sweet rasmalai is loved by everyone. So, here it’s a recipe for Instant Bread Rasmalai. This can be prepared from skimmed milk also. Means it’s a lovely sweet with low cal. and fewer efforts. So, let's try this super delicious, quick and easy Bengali sweet as dessert tonight.

Serves – 4 people
Ingredients to make Rasmalai:
8 slices bread
5 cups skimmed milk
3 to 4 tablespoon milk powder
5 cups skimmed milk
3 to 4 tablespoon milk powder
1 pinch saffron
3 to 4 tablespoon sugar
¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
For garnishing:
Sliced almonds
Sliced pistachio
Cardamom powder
Cardamom seeds
Cardamom seeds
Saffron
Method to make Rasmalai:
- First of all cut, all bread slices in round shape with the help of cutter or scissor. Keep a side covered.
- Mix milk, saffron, milk powder and sugar in a non stick pan and boil 4 to 5 minutes.
- When ready remove from flame and add cardamom powder. Let it come at room temp.
- For serving put 2 round slices of bread in a serving bowl (individual serving) and pour 1 cup of milk over it. Garnish with almonds, pistachio, cardamom powder and saffron. Repeat the process for remaining.
- Keep in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours.
- Serve chilled Rasmalai as desert.
Tips:
- If milk powder is not available corn flour slurry can be used for thickening milk.
- For diabetes patients artificial sweetener can be used.
- Even full-fat milk can also be used, in that case, boil for minimum 10 minutes.
