Recipe by Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Farali Dosa. Janmastami is the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna and is celebrated all over India . It is a celebration of eighth avtar of Lord Vishnu.
This religious festival is celebrated on astami of krishna paksh of shravan month according to the Hindu calender with great devotion and zeal. It is also known as Gokulashtami and Krishnaasthami.
Preparation time - 15 minutes
Cooking time 10 minutes
Serves - 4 persons
1 cup sabudana - sago
1/2 cup curd
Sindhav salt to taste
Oil or butter for frying dosa
For masala:
250 gram boiled potatoes
1 tea spoon crushed green chilies
Sindhav salt to taste
1 tea spoon lemon juice
1 table spoon sugar
1 table spoon oil
1/2 tea spoon roasted cumin powder
8 to 10 curry leaves
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
1 table spoon chopped coriander
1 table spoon sugar
Sindhav salt to taste
Pinch of cumin powder

Dosa is a very well known south Indian recipe. Here it's a recipe of Farali Dosa. Normally it is a big head ache about the menu in fast. So, it's an honest try to make it easy. This recipe is very easy to make and good in taste.

Ingredients to make Farali Dosa:
3 cups moraiya1 cup sabudana - sago
1/2 cup curd
Sindhav salt to taste
Oil or butter for frying dosa
For masala:
250 gram boiled potatoes
1 tea spoon crushed green chilies
Sindhav salt to taste
1 tea spoon lemon juice
1 table spoon sugar
1 table spoon oil
1/2 tea spoon roasted cumin powder
8 to 10 curry leaves
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
1 table spoon chopped coriander
Ingredients to make Curd Chutney:
1 cup curd1 table spoon sugar
Sindhav salt to taste
Pinch of cumin powder
Method to make Farali Dosa:
- Soak moraiyo and sabudana in normal water for 3 to 4 hours. Crush them separately and mix together, now add curd and sindhav mix well. Keep for 3 - 4 hours at warm place.
- After 3 -4 hours mix it properly. In a non stick tavi - griddle spread batter and add oil or butter over it. ( It will be slight thicker than normal dosa.)
- Turn around and cook properly. Place masala over it and fold it.
- Repeat the process for the remaining.
- Serve Farali Dosa with curd chutney.
Method to make Masala:
- Pour oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and curry leaves, add green chilly paste and potatoes ( chopped ). Now add salt, cumin powder, lemon juice and sugar. Mix well.
- At last garnish with chopped coriander.
Method to make Curd Chutney:
- Mix all the ingredients of Curd Chutney.

- You can also make Farali Uttapa from this batter.
