Ingredients to make watermelon juice:
1 small to medium-sized ripe watermelon
Ice cubes
For garnishing:
Fresh mint leaves
Method to make watermelon juice:
· Start
by choosing a watermelon that's ripe and ready to fulfil your juice cravings.
Look for a melon with a uniform shape, a creamy yellow spot on one side
(indicating ripeness from sitting on the ground) and a dull, matte appearance
rather than a shiny one.
· Place
the watermelon on a clean cutting board. Use a sharp knife to slice off the top
and bottom ends. Stand the watermelon upright on one of the flat ends.
· With
the watermelon standing, carefully slice off the rind in vertical strips,
following the curvature of the fruit. Once the rind is removed, you'll be left
with the juicy, vibrant watermelon flesh.
· Cut
the watermelon into chunks of manageable size, making sure to remove any seeds
you come across. If you've opted for a seedless variety, you'll have less work
to do!
· Take
your blender or food processor and add the watermelon chunks. Blend on
medium-high speed until you have a smooth and pulpy mixture. The result should
be a vibrant pink liquid that's brimming with watermelon essence.
· To
achieve a silky-smooth texture, pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh
strainer or a piece of cheesecloth. Gently press the pulp with a spoon to
extract as much juice as possible, leaving behind any solids.
· Transfer
the strained watermelon juice into a pitcher or glass jar. If you can't wait to
enjoy your creation, add a handful of ice cubes to the pitcher to rapidly chill
the juice.
· When
serving, garnish your watermelon juice with a sprig of fresh mint leaves for an
extra touch of flavour and visual appeal. The cooling aroma of mint perfectly
complements the sweet, juicy taste of the watermelon.
· Find
a comfy spot in the shade or on your patio, take a deep breath, and relish in
the pure delight of your homemade watermelon juice. With each sip, you'll be
transported to a summery paradise where refreshment knows no bounds.
