Preparation time - 5 to 7 minutes

Cooking time - 10 minutes

Grilling time - 4 to 5 minutes/sandwich

Ingredients to make Aloo Mutter Chipiya Sandwich:

For outer layer:

4 slices bread

Low fat butter as needed

For stuffing:

1 cup boiled and grated/mashed potatoes

2 big onion finely chopped/thin sliced

1/4 cup par boiled green peas

Salt to taste 

1 tablespoon oil

1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 tablespoon finely chopped green chillies

1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon garam masala powder

1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder

1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder

A hand full of finely chopped coriander leaves

To serve with:

Tomato ketchup 

Green chutney



Method to make Aloo Mutter Chipiya Sandwich:

For stuffing:

  • Boil and grate/mash potatoes. Keep a side.
  • Par boil green peas. 
  • In a pan heat oil and add cumin seeds to it. When they crackles, add green chillies and onion to it. Cook until onion turns transparent. 
  • Add green peas and another dry spices to it and mix well. Again cook for a minute at medium flame.
  • Now its time to add boiled potatoes to it. Mix well and let it cook for 2 minutes. 
  • At last add coriander and mix well. Let it cool at room temperature. 

How to assemble Aloo Mutter Chipiya Sandwich:

  • Apply butter on inner side of two bread slices. Place stuffing over one slice and cover with another slice. At this stage apply tomato ketchup and green chutney green chutney inside one or two slices of the breads.
  • Apply butter on outer side of bread slices. 
  • Place carefully in chipiya sandwich maker and cook at medium to slow flame both sides. 
  • Remove from sandwich maker after you get desired crisp. 
  • Repeat the same for remaining. 
  • Cut the sandwich and serve with tomato ketchup and green chutney. 
  • Hot and delicious Aloo Mutter Chipiya Sandwich is ready to serve. 

Note:

  • I used low fat butter.
  • You can use whole wheat bread/multi grain bread/sourdough bread.
  • You can add other vegetables as per choice like carrot,capsicum, paneer etc.
