Kadha Recipe for Cold, Cough, and Throat Infection

- Cooking time – 10 to 15 minutes
- Serves – 4 person
Ingredients to make Kadha:
- 1 liter water
- A hand full of mint leaves
- A hand full of tulsi (basil) leaves
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
or
- ¼ cup fresh grated turmeric
- 3 to 4 sticks of cinnamon
- 100 gram ginger
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cloves
- Lemon juice as per taste
- Honey as per taste
- Black salt as per taste
Method to make Kadha:
- Wash mint & tulsi (basil) leaves and keep a side.
- If you are taking fresh turmeric wash and grate it.
- Roughly crush cinnamon, cloves & black pepper.
- Grate or roughly crush washed ginger.
- In a big pan add water and let it come to boiling point.
- Add all above ingredients to it and let them boil together at medium flame until water reduces to 500 ml.
- When ready let it cool to warm. Strain it.
- Add honey, lemon juice & black salt as per taste to it.
- Consume warm kadha to improve immunity.
Kadha Recipe Tips:
- In case you want to store it, you can store it in refrigerator for 3 to 4 days in airtight glass bottle. But in that case you need to consume it warm not cold.
- You can add or omit some herbs of your choice.
- Even you can change the proportion of herbs as per your taste.
- It is advisable to consume 125ml kadha at a time, most preferably in the morning.
