Recipe by Naiya Sheth: As the name indicates this is a delicious and crispy sweet dry snack. It can be stored for minimum 15 days in airtight container. Basically, this is a traditional snack from generation to generation. I learned it from my mother and she from her mother. Normally it is made from refined flour/maida, but I use half of refined flour and half whole wheat flour. So let's make this super delicious crispy and sweet dry snack Shakkarpara today.

Ingredients to make Shakkarpara:
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
Refined flour as needed
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup ghee/clarified butter
A pinch salt
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
Oil for frying
Method to make Shakkarpara:
- In a pan mix milk, ghee, salt and sugar. Cook them until boiling temperature.
- Let it cool at room temperature.
- In a big bowl add refined flour and cardamom powder. Mix well.
- Now add above mixture to it.
- Mix well and now time to add whole wheat flour.
- Add flour as needed to make the semi-stiff dough.
- Rest for minimum 10 minutes covered.
- Make big equal balls from it and cover them.
- Take a ball and roll it thick (maybe 1/2 cm.)
- Cut it in desired shape and size and now time for frying.
- Fry them at slow flame until light brown in colour and crisp. Remove from oil and cool at room temperature.
- Repeat the same for remaining.
- Store sweet, crispy and delicious dry snack Shakkarpara in an airtight container.
