How to make Hot Magas

Recipe by Naiya Sheth: In the earlier recipe, we made Magas - besan barfi. But this winter I made hot magas and it's very easy to make. Normally coarse gram flour is used for magas but I like the fine one. So I made the combination of fine and coarse gram flour with lots of dry fruits. So let's enjoy this winter season with quick and delicious hot magas.



Preparation time - 5 to 7 minutes
Cooking time - 10 to 12 minutes
Serves 3 to 4 person

Ingredients to make Hot Magas:

1 cup fine gram flour
2 to 3 tablespoon coarse gram flour
3/4 cup powder sugar
1/2 cup ghee - clarified butter
1/8 cup mix fine chopped dry fruits
(roasted cashew, roasted almonds, roasted walnuts)
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/2 teaspoon cardamom seeds

For garnishing:

Sliced almonds
Sliced pistachio

Method to make Hot Magas:

  • Heat ghee in a non-stick pan and add both flours to it.
  • Roast till light brown in colour at slow flame.
  • When ready remove from flame and stir for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add powder sugar, nuts and cardamom to it.
  • Mix well. Transfer it to serving bowl and again garnish with sliced almonds and pistachio.
  • Quick, hot and delicious Hot Magas is ready to serve.
