How to make Alu Methi

Alu Methi is one of the healthy Indian vegetable, specially in winter. It is very easy to make and nice in taste.

Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time - 10 -15 minutes
Serves - 4 person

Ingredients to make Alu Methi:

1 kilo fresh fenugreek leaves ( methi) - finely chopped
1 table spoon oil
3 to 4 whole dry red chilies
1/4 tea spoon asafoetida
2 tea spoon chopped garlic
3 to 4 boiled potatoes
1 table spoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste

Method to make Alu Methi:
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add red chilies, asafoedita and garlic. Saute for a minute.
  • Add methi leaves, boiled potatoes, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
  • Cover and cook on medium flame till cooks and moisture evaporates.
  • Hot and healthy Alu Methi is ready to serve.
  • Serve hot with Indian bread - roti.
