How to make Bhatura

Recipe by Naiya Sheth: Learn how to make Bhature. In Indian cuisine, bhature is served with punjabi chhole. Here it's an easy and quick recipe for bhature.
To make it softer even when not piping hot, I added boiled potatoes. And the result was awesome. So let's try this homemade recipe of Bhatura today. 




Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time 5 minutes


Ingredients to make Bhature:


1 cup refined flour
1 cup boiled and grated potato
2 to 3 teaspoon oil
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Method to make Bhature:
  • Mix all the ingredients of bhature and make dough from it. Normally water is not required but if necessary add few drops.
  • Knead it properly and make a semi-soft dough. Cover it with a wet muslin cloth and keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Divide dough into equal parts and roll it.
  • Heat oil and deep fry bhatura in it till both sides are golden brown.
  • Repeat the process for rest.
  • Serve hot Bhatura with Punjabi Chhole.

Tips:
  • If you want to make it healthy you may use a combination of whole wheat flour, refined flour and soy flour.
  • If required press bhatura with frying spoon at the center while frying.
