How to make Idli Chaat

Recipe by naiya Sheth: As we all know idli is a very popular south Indian recipe. It is very easy to make and easy to digest also. Now it's a time for some fusion from that idli. We are going to make this delicious chaat recipe with left over idli. Even you can use fresh idli also. But one thing is sure it is going to be very delicious and of course easiest chaat recipe you know. So what are you waiting for? Let's try this yummy, mouthwatering home made recipe of Idli Chhat today.




Cooking time - nil
Preparation time - 5 to 7 minutes
Makes - 2 servings

Ingredients to make Idli Chaat:

2 idlies
2 table spoon whisked curd
2 table spoon sweet chutney
2 tea spoon green chutney
1 tea spoon garlic chutney
Masala peanuts as needed
Sev as needed
Chaat masalo to sprinkle

For garnishing:

Chopped coriander
Pomegranate seeds


Method to make Idli Chaat:


  • Cut idli in 2 parts horizontally. Warm in microwave for 30 seconds (opt.).
  • Apply some sweet chutney, green chutney and garlic chutney between 2 parts of idli. Sprinkle some masala peanuts on it.(opt)
  • Cover with other part and again apply, whisk curd, sweet chutney, green chutney and garlic chutney on the top of the idli.
  • Again put some masala peanuts on it and then sprinkle chaat masalo over it.
  • Cover with sev and at last garnish with coriander and pomegranate seeds.
  • Repeat the same for remaining.
  • Quick and easy yet delicious Idli Chaat is ready to eat.
  • In other way you can place 4 pieces of idli in a bowl, then spread some whisked curd, sweet chutney, green chutney, garlic chutney and at last sprinkle some masala peanuts on it. Repeat for second layer. At last sprinkle chaat masalo. 
  • Garnish with sev, pomegranate and coriander.
