It's a very well known South Indian recipe. Masala Dosa is a stomach filler recipe. In earlier recipe we learn to make sada dosa. In this home made recipe of Masala Dosa lots of vegetables are used to make it more healthy. It is a very delicious recipe. Now ready made batter is available every where. And even home made batter also can be used. My son likes masala dosa with red garlic chutney and lots of grated cheese. It tastes very nice with coconut chutney, sambhar and masala curd. So enjoy the delicious recipe of masala dosa today.
Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time - 15 to 20 minutes
Serves - 4 person
Ingredients to make Masala Dosa:
700 grams dosa batter
Salt to taste
1 table spoon semolina
Butter as needed
Red garlic chutney
Grated cheese as needed
For masala:
500 grams boiled and mashed potatoes
2 big onion finely chopped
3 table spoon oil
1 tea spoon cumin seeds
3 to 4 green chillies finely chopped
8 to 10 curry leaves
Salt to taste
2 table spoon finely chopped boiled carrots
2 table spoon boiled green peas
1 table spoon red chilli powder
1 tea spoon turmeric powder
1 table spoon sambar powder
2 table spoon finely chopped coriander leaves
1 table spoon roasted cumin powder
To serve with:
Masala curd
For masala curd:
250 ml. curd
2 table spoon sugar
Salt to taste
1 tea spoon oil
1/4 tea spoon mustard seeds
Method to make Masala Dosa:
- Prepare dosa batter as the recipe, add salt and semolina to it.
- Keep a side for minimum 30 minutes.
For masala:
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to it. When they crackles add curry leaves, green chillies and onion to it.
- Cook till onions are light brown in colour.
- Add dry spices to it and again cook for 3 to 4 minues at medium flame.
- at last add mashed potatoes, carrots and green peas to it. Mix well.
- Remove from flame and add coriander leaves to it.
For masala curd:
- Whisk curd properly and add sugar and salt to it. Mix well.
- Heat oil and add mustard seeds to it, when they crackles add them to curd mixture and mix well. Keep a side.
How to assemble:
- Heat a non stick tavi - griddle and spread a big spoon full of dosa bater on it properly.
- Cook for 2 minutes at high flame and then spread some butter over it. Now spread some diluted garlic chutney to it and spread above masalo to it.
- Spread some grated cheese and fold dosa properly.
- Turn arround caefully and again apply some butter and sprinkle some grated cheese to it.
- Serve hot, crisp and yummy masala dosa with sambhar, masala curd and coconut chutney.
