How to Make Metthi Malai Mutter


Recipe By Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Methi Malai mutter. In earlier recipe we have already a recipe for same vegetable - means methi malai mutter.  That was little bland in taste. But now it's a spicy and yummy recipe for methi malai mutter. It is a colourfull vegetable with goodness of methi - fenugreek leaves and green peas. So enjoy cooking methi malai mutter during this winter.

Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time - 15 to 20 minutes
Serves - 2 person

Ingredients to make Methi Malai Mutter:

1 tea spoon oil
1/4 tea spoon asafoetida
200 gram fenugreek leaves
Salt to taste
2 table spoon oil
1 tea spoon cumin seeds
1 onion finely chopped
1 tea spoon garlic paste
1/2 tea spoon ginger paste
2 to 3 green chili paste
2 tomatoes blanched and peeled
2 table spoon fresh cream
1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
2 tea spoon red chilli powder 
1 tea spoon cumin coriander powder
1/2 cup blanched green peas
1 tea spoon tomato ketch up

Method to make Methi Malai Mutter:

  • Wash and chop fenugreek leaves and spread them on muslin cloth for minimum 30 minutes.
  • In a pan heat 1 tea spoon oil and add asafoetida to it. Add chopped fenugreek leaves and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, add salt to taste. Keep a side.
  • In another pan add 2 table spoon oil and then add cumin seeds to it. When it crackles add finely chopped onion and cook for 2 minutes. Add ginger, garlic and chilli paste to it and again cook for 1 minute. 
  • Add finely chopped blanched tomatoes and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. When cooked add salt, tomato ketchup and spices to it. At last add fresh cream to it and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • At last add boiled green peas and ready fenugreek leaves. Mix well.
  • Cook for 2 minutes. Hot and spicy Methi Malai Mutter is ready to serve.
