How to Make Pizza Margherita

Recipe by Naiya Sheth : Learn how to make Pizza Margherita. Hummm.... it's a home made recipe for all time kids favourite yummy pizza margherita. It is very popular in kids of any age. It is cheesy and very delicious in taste. To make it healthy I tried to make base from refined flour and whole wheat flour and I added a hand full of sesame seeds. But it gives same taste and softness as a dough from refined flour. If pizza sauce is ready it's very convenient to make it.

Preparation time - 15 to 20 minutes
Cooking time - 30 to 35 minutes
Serves - 4 person

Ingredients to make Pizza Margherita:

For base:

350 grams self rising flour
150 grams whole wheat flour
2 table spoon sesame seeds
2 1/2 table spoon butter
25 grams dry yeast
1 tea spoon sugar
Salt to taste
Lukewarm water as needed
1/4 cup milk

For pizza sauce:

2 cups pizza sauce (approx.)

For topping:

Pizza cheese
Chilli flacks
Oregano

Method to make Pizza Margherita:

  • In a big bowl take refined flour, whole wheat flour and sesame seeds. 
  • Make a hollow in between that and add 2 table spoon lukewarm water to it. Add sugar and dry yeast to lukewarm water. Keep a side covered for 10 minutes. 
  • After that mix it and add salt and butter to it. Mix well and knead soft dough from it with sufficient lukewarm water.
  • Keep a side covered for minimum 30 minutes at warm place.

How to assemble:

  • Knead dough very softly and make equal size balls from it. Now roll a ball medium thick. 
  • Spread some pizza sauce over it and then spread pizza cheese over it ad per the taste. 
  • Sprinkle some chilli flacks and oregano over it and then sprinkle some milk. Place it on baking dish and then bake for 10 to 15 minutes or till cheese melts at 150`c temp. in O.T.G.
  • Hot and mouthwatering pizza margherita is ready to serve.
